The Trails of M-22
The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy has been busy protecting land and building trails so we've teamed up with MichiganTrailMaps.com again to produce the second edition of The Trails of M-22.
The full-color, 224-page book focuses on 48 beautiful trails that are accessed from what many consider Michigan’s most beautiful highway. The 116-mile state highway, that wraps around Michigan’s little pinky like a glove, passes through the heart of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, the state’s most popular national park, and serves as the gateway to more than two-dozen preserves protected by the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy in Manistee and Benzie Counties and the Leelanau Conservancy in Leelanau County.
The second edition of The Trails of M-22 is a guidebook blended with digital content. Trail maps in this book are accompanied by a QR code linking you to a larger and more detailed version on the MichiganTrailMaps.com website. Those maps can be downloaded onto a mobile device or printed and then used on the trail. Also on the website are links to Avenza Map Store that will enable you to download a georeferenced version of the maps.
The Trails of M-22 was written by Jim DuFresne, one of the best known outdoor writers in the Midwest and author of more than 20 books including Isle Royale National Park: Foot Trails & Water Routes and 50 Hikes in Michigan.
